The Shrinking Man

The Shrinking ManFebruary 2014

Hi – I’m writing this in February 2014, some three and a half years after I first started this blog – I just realised today that I didn’t have a ‘what it’s all about’ page.  If you want to see how I felt when I started it, then dive back to the beginning of the tale – you’ll find it all in there – warts and all.

I’m a fat bloke.  I don’t want to be a fat bloke.  And most of the time, I feel really alone.  I don’t mean that in any “pity me please” sobbing way, but it’s a true reflection of how I feel a lot of the time.  I don’t want to be some muscle-bound adonis either.  I just want to be ‘normal’ whatever that is, and it seems like I’m the only one, but I know that’s not true.

If you’re a woman, there appears to be a vast amount of options specifically tailored to help you get to wherever you want to be.  If you’re a guy and you want to become that muscle-bound adonis who lives in the gym, then you’ve got options there too.  But what if you just want to shrink to a more comfortable size?  There’s nothing out there – at least not that I’ve found.

That’s why I decided to tell my story.

It’s a story with a difference because it doesn’t have an ending.  In my minds-eye, there is a scene where I walk off into the sunset, slim, sexy and happy, but in reality, I’ve found that scene to be the one before the adverts rather than the end of the story.  That scene exists, but it’s just a lead-in to the next ‘getting fatter again’ chapter of the story.  It might never have an ending, or it might have an unhappy ending.  Only time will tell.

So I have no idea where this story will go, but what I’ll promise to do is do my best to share what happens with you along the way.

If you’re looking to shrink, then welcome on board.
